Netflix Eases Profile Transfers After Password Sharing Crackdown
Netflix has revamped its password-sharing rules, making it easier for users locked out of accounts to transfer their profiles. The streaming giant now lets viewers move their profiles not just to new accounts, but also to reactivated ones.
How to Transfer Your Netflix Profile
Previously, users could shift profiles only to freshly created accounts. The update now expands this to include reactivated accounts. To transfer, just enter your profile’s email and password in the Profile Transfer section found on your Netflix profile page.
Netflix Cracks Down on Password Sharing
This move follows Netflix’s strict crackdown earlier this year on password sharing. Customers caught sharing accounts outside their household got official emails demanding they pay £4.99 to continue sharing access.
A Netflix spokesperson said, “We will be sending this email to members who are sharing Netflix outside their household in the United Kingdom. A Netflix account is for use by one household.”
Netflix assures that everyone in a household can still enjoy the service anytime, anywhere—home, on the go, or on holiday—thanks to handy features like Profile Transfer and Manage Access and Devices.
More Content, More Convenience
As competition heats up, Netflix promises a diverse library of films and TV shows, catering to all tastes, moods, languages, and viewing preferences. This latest profile transfer update helps users keep their watch history, favourites, and My List when switching accounts—no hassle, no fuss.
