Vintage Ferrari Goes Up in Flames in Wickham
A stunning vintage Ferrari was reduced to a smouldering wreck after bursting into flames in Wickham this afternoon.
Firefighters Rush to Fiery Scene
Retained firefighters from Hampshire Fire and Rescue stationed at Wickham, joined by a full-time crew from Fareham, raced to Hundred Acres Road. They found the iconic red Ferrari fully engulfed in flames.
Driver Escapes Unharmed as Engine Blazes
Thankfully, the driver got out before the fire took hold. The blaze reportedly started in the engine compartment before spreading quickly.
A Hampshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “The driver escaped unhurt. Crews were called just after 4pm on Monday.”
Fire Extinguished, Police Take Over
Two fire crews doused the flames using hose reels and jets. Once under control, the scene was handed over to Hampshire Constabulary, who arranged for recovery of the wrecked Ferrari.
