Woman Dies After Hit-and-Run Moped Crash in West London

A 58-year-old woman tragically died after being hit by a moped on Tuesday evening in West London. The fatal collision happened just after 6pm on 16 January on Talgarth Road, near the junction with Gliddon Road.

Victim Struck While Crossing Road

Ina Rodrigues was crossing the road when she was struck by the moped. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and she was taken to hospital. Despite efforts to save her, Ina passed away on Sunday, 21 January.

Specially trained officers are providing support to her devastated family.

Moped Fled Scene, Riders Still At Large

The moped failed to stop after the collision. CCTV footage later showed the abandoned vehicle nearby. The rider and a passenger then fled on foot, and police are urgently trying to identify them.

Detective Constable Matt Jackson, Roads and Transport Policing Command, said: “Our investigation has tracked the moped to where it was abandoned, but we need the public’s help to identify the two people on it at the time. Ina’s family has been devastated, and we want to provide them with answers. If you can help, please get in touch immediately.”

No arrests have been made yet. Anyone with information about the collision or the people involved is urged to contact police on 101 or the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at 020 8543 5157, quoting reference 6001718/24. You can also pass details anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
