M25 Dartford Crossing SHUT After Person Spotted on QE2 Bridge
Chaos on the M25 tonight as traffic is completely halted on the QE2 Bridge at Dartford. Reports of a person on the bridge have forced both Essex and Kent Police to swoop in and shut down the entire Dartford Crossing in both directions.
Police Shut Bridge and Tunnels – Huge Tailbacks Building
Officers arrived quickly but warned drivers the situation could take some time to resolve. Traffic has been stopped on both carriageways, causing massive tailbacks on surrounding roads.
In a bid to control the scene, police also closed the two tunnels beneath the crossing while specialists deal with the incident.
Highways England Confirm Police-Led Closure
A Highways England spokesperson said: “We were informed of this police-led incident at around 8.19pm on Thursday evening. Traffic has now been stopped both ways as officers manage the situation.”
