Police Warn Against Flouting Covid Rules
“This event increased the risk of transmission of Coronavirus and caused disruption to the community,” said Supt Bruce Riddell, Silver Commander for 1 Valley Police’s Covid response.
“Most people are doing their bit to stop the spread and we thank them for it. Cases may be falling, but regulations remain to protect us—especially against large gatherings.”
“Our officers will continue to engage and encourage compliance. But for those blatantly ignoring the rules, expect fines, dispersals, or arrests.”
“This incident sent shockwaves through the community. Let this be a clear warning: organisers of illegal parties will be penalised.”
