Van Hits Pedestrians on The Strand – One Feared Dead, Another Critical
A van smashed into several pedestrians on The Strand in central London, leaving one person feared dead and another critically injured, police have confirmed.
Chaos Near King’s College London
The crash happened near King’s College London’s entrance at around 11:50am. Emergency crews swarmed the scene, with paramedics seen performing CPR on a victim lying on the pavement.
The Metropolitan Police said early checks show the incident is not terror-related.
Emergency Services Responded in Force
- London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene.
- Two fire engines and about 10 firefighters from Dowgate and Lambeth stations were involved.
- A police source confirmed: “One individual is feared to have died at the scene. Another is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.”
Road Closures and Investigation Underway
The Strand is closed to westbound traffic from Surrey Street to Waterloo Bridge. Eastbound lanes remain open.
