Late-Night Car Blaze Shakes Worthing Residents
Residents in Manor Road, Worthing, were jolted awake at 2am by a deafening bang as a car suddenly burst into flames.
‘Sounded Like a Bomb’ – Locals Panic
One local told Sussex News, “I was asleep and it sounded like a bomb had gone off. I grabbed my phone and called 999 immediately.”
Firefighters Race to Scene, Save Nearby Vehicle
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service quickly mobilised fire crews to tackle the blaze. A spokesperson said, “At around 2am, we responded to a vehicle fire at Manor Road, Worthing. One fire engine from Worthing was dispatched.”
“On arrival, crews found one car well alight. Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the flames. The fire also caused damage to the car parked next to it. The cause of the fire remains unknown.”
Emergency services acted fast to prevent the fire from spreading further in the early morning chaos.
