Young Man Fatally Stabbed in Newham Park
Imran Maroof, 20, has been named as the victim of a fatal stabbing in Plashet Park, Newham, on July 27. The horrific attack happened around 7:30pm. Paramedics rushed to the scene, but Imran was pronounced dead at the spot.
Two Teens Injured in Shocking Triple Stabbing
The Met Police and London Ambulance Service arrived to find two other teenage boys at the scene. One was stabbed, the other suffered head injuries. Both were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
16-Year-Old Charged with Murder
A 16-year-old boy from Newham has been charged with Imran’s murder. He appeared at Bexley Magistrates’ Court on August 30 and is set to face trial at the Old Bailey on September 3. Legal restrictions prevent naming the teen.
Police Call for Public Help
Detectives from the Specialist Crime Command are leading the investigation. The Met Police urge anyone with information to come forward. A spokesperson said:
“Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 020 8721 4961 or via 101, quoting reference CAD 6541/27Jul. You can also contact the police public portal or remain anonymous via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The investigation is ongoing as officers work to bring justice for Imran and his family.
