Lilibet Finally Crowned Princess as Harry and Meghan Use Royal Titles for Kids
In a first, Lilibet Diana has officially been called a princess, confirming that Harry and Meghan’s children will bear royal titles. This announcement puts the Sussex kids firmly in the royal spotlight.
No Royals at Lilibet’s Christening
The Sussexes invited several Royal Family members to Lilibet’s christening, but none showed up. Born before Charles’ reign, Lilibet wasn’t initially a princess. However, with King Charles now on the throne, she’s earned the title.
Buckingham Palace confirmed it will soon update the official royal website to list Lilibet as a princess.
Harry & Meghan Leave Title Use Up to Kids
Lilibet is Harry and Meghan’s second child, born after they stepped back as working royals in 2020 and moved to the US. Their son Archie arrived in May 2019.
The couple says their children will be officially called prince and princess in formal settings but won’t use the titles casually. It remains unclear if they’ll carry the HRH style, as Harry himself stopped using it after quitting royal duties.
American Bishop Baptises Royal Toddler
The christening was led by the Right Reverend John Harvey Taylor, Bishop of Los Angeles, who once worked for former US President Richard Nixon before becoming ordained.
Whether Harry and Meghan will attend King Charles and Queen Consort’s upcoming coronation remains unknown. One thing’s certain: their children are now recognised as bona fide royalty, poised to play a key part in the family’s future.
