Police are on the hunt after a serious hit-and-run in Cleveleys left an elderly woman badly injured. The victim, a woman in her 80s, was struck by a mobility scooter and left in a serious condition.
Incident Unfolded at Victoria Square
The crash happened just before 1:30 PM on Monday, December 8th, at Victoria Square. Emergency services raced to the scene after reports of the collision. Paramedics treated the pensioner’s serious foot injury on site before rushing her to the hospital.
Driver Flees Scene – Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
The mobility scooter driver didn’t stop and sped off, leaving the victim injured. Officers are urgently trying to track down the scooter and its rider. They are piecing together the details and need the public’s help.
“We were called shortly before 1:30 PM after a woman in her 80s was knocked down by a mobility scooter on Victoria Square,” a police spokesperson said. “She sustained a serious foot injury and was treated at the scene before hospital transfer. The scooter did not stop, and we are making efforts to trace it.”
