Violent Assault Shocks Southampton Pizza Hut Precinct
Police are hunting for witnesses after a 21-year-old man was viciously attacked near the Pizza Hut in Bitterne Road precinct, Southampton. The incident happened between 10am and noon on Friday, May 27.
The victim was walking with a friend when two men approached. A heated verbal spat quickly escalated before one of the men launched a brutal assault, leaving the 21-year-old with injuries to his face and head. The attackers then fled towards Bitterne Leisure Centre.
Descriptions of Suspects Released
- Man 1: White, early 20s, around 6 feet tall, slim build, short shaved hair. Wearing a white t-shirt and grey tracksuit bottoms.
- Man 2: White, early 20s, about 5ft 5in, slim build, short shaved hair. Wearing a dark blue Nike jacket and grey tracksuit bottoms.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“This assault took place on a busy Friday morning in Bitterne precinct,” said PC Craig Shears of Bitterne Police Station. “We believe many passers-by saw the public verbal dispute that led to the attack. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or argument to come forward.”
