Brutal unprovoked attack rocks Southampton park in early hours
Police are hunting witnesses after two men were viciously assaulted in Watts Park, Southampton, in the dead of night. The pair, aged 27 and 31, were set upon by two attackers around 2am on Sunday.

The victims were cold-cocked, kicked and punched to the ground in what appears to be a random attack. They were rushed to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries.
- The 27-year-old man suffered a suspected broken nose and a heavily bruised eye.
- The 31-year-old victim had a cut lip and swelling on his cheekbone.
Suspects described – police want you to speak up
The first attacker is a white male, late 20s, about 5ft 9in, stocky build, with short curly ginger hair and a full ginger beard. He was wearing a pink top.
The second man, also white, was dressed in a grey t-shirt.
After launching the assault, both men fled the scene. Good Samaritans quickly came to the victims’ aid, surrounding them until help arrived.
Appeal for vital witnesses
Police are urging anyone who came to the victims’ rescue or saw two men matching these descriptions in Watts Park at 2am to come forward.
