Sevenoaks suspects arrested over theft and knife offences

Two people have been arrested in Sevenoaks in connection with knife and theft offences. Officers were patrolling the town during the early hours of Friday 12 April 2019 when at around 2.30am they had reason to stop a man walking along London Road. He was searched and a number of items believed to be stolen, including bank cards, a driving licence and house keys were found. Two knives were also seized. The suspect, a 29-year-old man of no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife in a public place and theft. A 28-year-old woman, of no fixed address, was also arrested in connected with the theft. Both were later released, pending further investigation. Kent Police takes a zero-tolerance approach to anyone carrying weapons and these arrests are the latest in an ongoing crackdown on knife crime across the county, including associated offences, such as supplying drugs.
