Elderly Couple Found Dead in Kensington Flat – Murder Investigation Launched
Detectives have opened a murder probe after an elderly couple were discovered dead in their Kensington home. Officers were called to a flat in Adair Tower, Appleford Road, W10, at 6.49am on Thursday, 23 May.
Arrest Made After Grim Discovery
Surrey police tipped off colleagues after being contacted by a man known to both victims. When Met officers entered the flat, they found the bodies of a man and woman believed to be in their late 60s.
A man in his late 40s has been arrested by Surrey police on suspicion of murder. He will be transferred to London custody for questioning.
Active Crime Scene and Ongoing Enquiries
The flat remains sealed off as investigators carry out forensic work. Formal identification of the victims is pending, and officers are reaching out to their next of kin.
The Homicide and Major Crime Command, led by DCI Rob Pack, is spearheading the investigation. He said:
“This is an awful case where an elderly couple have been found dead in their home. My team are busy carrying out a number of enquiries including local CCTV review, house-to-house checks, and forensic work but need to hear from anyone with information.”
