Two Hospitalised After Taking Suspected 'THC-Infused' Sweets in Godalming
An adult man and a 15-year-old teen were rushed to hospital after falling ill from sweets believed to be laced with illegal cannabis compounds.
Serious Condition but Stable
The adult was admitted around 8.15pm, with the teenager arriving later at 11.40pm. Both remain in a serious but stable condition. Authorities say they were both in the Godalming area when taken ill.
Police Warn Parents: Beware the ‘Edibles’
Detective Inspector Andy Greaves urged parents to speak urgently with their children about the dangers of these so-called ‘edibles’.
“Our immediate priority is to warn parents; and to tell children in the area not to be tempted to try them as they are obviously causing substantial harm,” Greaves said.
He added that these sweets often come in professional packaging, labeled as ‘cannabis infused’ or ‘THC infused,’ but stressed they are illegal and unregulated in the UK.
