Hit-and-Run Horror in Broxtowe Country Park
A pedestrian was knocked into a ditch and left unconscious after being hit by a speeding motorbike in Broxtowe Country Park. The victim was strolling along a footpath when two off-road bikes roared up behind him. One rider smashed into him, causing a nasty fall.
Riders Flee, Victim Seriously Injured
The bikers didn’t stop. It was a passer-by who bravely called for an ambulance. X-rays later revealed the man suffered a broken hand requiring a gruelling three-hour operation. He also sustained deep gashes and bruises to his legs.
Police Hunt Hit-and-Run Biker
Nottinghamshire Police have released CCTV images of a motorcyclist they want to trace. The hit-and-run happened at around 3.30pm on 5 July.
PC Charlie Flatters said: “Off-road motorbikes driven in public places is a growing issue for residents in the Broxtowe area. On this occasion a pedestrian has been left with injuries following a hit and run, which is totally unacceptable.
“The incident took place during the afternoon and there will have been a number of members of the public present in the country park. I am appealing for any witnesses to come forward with any information they may have.”
