Sex Offender Jailed for Babysitting Kids Against Court Order
Barry Reddish Sentenced for SHPO Breaches
Barry Reddish, 52, a registered sex offender from Roughwood Road, Rotherham, was slapped with a three-year prison sentence at Sheffield Crown Court on 25 March. He was found guilty of three counts of breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Unsupervised Babysitting Sparks Arrest
The court was told Reddish babysat several children under 16 unsupervised between October 2019 and January 2020, flagrantly ignoring his SHPO conditions. He was arrested on 30 March and charged shortly after.
Police Praise Jail Term as a Win for Public Safety
“Reddish had brazenly continued to have contact with children under the age of 16 despite the terms set in his SHPO,” said Detective Constable Rachel Watts.
“I am pleased that he is now behind bars, off the streets and not a risk to the local community for the next three years.”
