Gun Attack Shocker on Cantley Street
Graham Delmar blasted a man in the chest with a sawn-off shotgun during a brutal gang clash on Aldesworth Road, Cantley. The chaos erupted around 11.20am on 6 May 2021. Delmar, 47, from Aldesworth Road, was locked up for six years and nine months today (11 January) at Sheffield Crown Court after pleading guilty to wounding with intent and firearm possession last December.
Victim Attacked First with Baseball Bats
The shooting victim, Thomas Maughan, 31, showed up earlier at Delmar’s home with Nathan Marshall, 25, and attacked the residents in the garden using baseball bats. Both men viciously assaulted Delmar and others before the shooting. Maughan, of Marshland Road, was jailed for 18 months, while Marshall, from Woodlea Grove, got 25 months. Both pleaded guilty to affray in November 2021, having initially faced violent disorder charges.
Police Issue Stern Warning on Firearms
DS Claire Moss from Doncaster’s CID said: “South Yorkshire Police will always take proactive steps to take down organised crime across our region.
“We are pleased that three violent offenders have again been removed from our streets, and hope that the sentence for Delmar, in particular, serves as a warning to anyone else thinking of getting involved in the use of firearms.”
