Faded Lines Gone: Safety Boost for Stanwick Lakes Visitors

Visitors to Stanwick Lakes in Northamptonshire faced traffic chaos as cars parked along the driveway and busy A45, causing dangerous tailbacks. The faded double yellow lines — meant to stop illegal parking — had almost disappeared.

Help from Highways England and Contractors

Rockingham Forest Trust called in the A45/A6 Chowns Mill roundabout improvement team for a fix. Their plea was swiftly answered. Workers repainted the double yellow lines, sending a clear ‘no parking’ message to drivers.

The effort was a team effort. Contractors WJ (North) Ltd, Chevron TM, and Carnell Group donated materials and manpower.

Safety First, Say Officials

“Safety is always our number one priority,” said Highways England Project Manager Dean Holloway. “These double yellow lines will stop dangerous parking and help all visitors enjoy Stanwick Lakes safely.”

Alyson Allfree from Rockingham Forest Trust added, “We’re grateful for the advice, generosity, and support that made this happen during National Customer Service Week. It’s a win for visitors and drivers alike.”

National Customer Service Week Boosts Local Safety

The repainting took place on Thursday during National Customer Service Week, which Highways England marked with its ‘Everything you do matters’ campaign, celebrating the workers who keep the public safe every day.
