Firefighters Hospitalised After Firework Attack on Southampton Station
Last night, chaos erupted at Southampton fire station when a lit firework was hurled through a window. Two brave firefighters were rushed to hospital but were thankfully released later the same night. Police have launched an investigation into this shocking assault.
Fire Chief Condemns Reckless Attack
Dan Tasker, Assistant Director of Operations for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, slammed the incident as “deeply unpleasant” and warned of potentially far worse consequences.
“We’re thankful our firefighters were not seriously injured. They are both being supported. We urge anyone with information to come forward to the police,” said Tasker.
“Our job is to protect the community and most people respect that. But attacks on our people will never be tolerated and will always be reported.”
Bonfire Night Warning: Handle Fireworks Responsibly
With Bonfire Night around the corner, Tasker issued a stark warning about the dangers of fireworks.
“Fireworks are explosives and can cause real, lasting damage. Please talk to your kids about where and how to use them safely. If you see reckless behaviour, report it immediately to the police.”
