Thieves ‘Fish’ Car Keys Through Letterbox in Burghfield Heist

Burghfield residents woke up to a shocking double theft after crooks stole two vehicles straight from a driveway. The ringleaders struck sometime between 10pm on Wednesday, January 19, and 7am on Thursday, January 20.

How They Did It: Fishing for Keys

The suspects snatched car keys by ‘fishing’ them through the letterbox—then made off with a blue Audi Q5 and a blue Ford Tourneo Custom van specially adapted for wheelchair use. Both vehicles sped off down East Street before heading onto the Ewell Bypass.

Police Hunt Three Hooded Men Caught on CCTV

Officers have released a description of the suspects: three slim men wearing hoods, balaclavas, and dark clothing. CCTV footage shows them arriving at the scene just before the theft.
