Mark Roberts, 47 and of no fixed address, was charged on Wednesday 2 March 2022 with one count of committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence, and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The charges follow an investigation by Kent Police’s Criminal Investigation Department into an incident in which a woman was approached and assaulted by a person, while walking on a footpath near Beaconsfield Road in the city, during the evening of Sunday 27 February.
Mr Roberts remains in custody and is due to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 3 March.
