High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Knife Bust on A453
Police officers were cruising along the A453 towards Clifton when a car shot past them, smashing over 90mph. The reckless driver then swerved wildly and blasted through a red light at about 5.50pm on Saturday, 1 July.
Driver Ignored Blue Lights, Pushed Speed to 60mph in 40 Zone
Officers immediately switched on their blue lights and ordered the vehicle to pull over. The driver ignored the commands and tore on, hitting 60mph in a 40mph zone.
The chase finally ended on Clifton Boulevard, where the car was stopped and searched.
Knives, Cash & Phones Found—Three Arrested
Inside the car, police found two knives, a large pile of cash, and multiple mobile phones. Three 21-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of possession of offensive weapons in public and possession of criminal property.
One of them also faces charges of dangerous driving and failing to stop.
All three suspects have since been bailed conditionally.
Detective Praises Officers, Appeals for Witnesses
“The dangerous driving put everyone on the road at risk,” said Detective Inspector Kayne Rukas of Nottinghamshire Police. “Thanks to our officers’ skilled driving, we stopped the vehicle safely without harm. This stop led to the seizure of knives and cash.”
