Major Incident Declared as Snow Strands Thousands on Smart Motorway

Police remain unable to reach key areas to free stuck gritters because selfish HGV drivers have blocked all four lanes of a smart motorway with no hard shoulder. Many lorries have either jackknifed or are stuck as snow turns to ice, halting vital gritting operations for hours.
