High-Speed Chase Ends in Foot Pursuit After Van Theft
Sussex Police’s Rural Crime Team (RCT) sprang into action after a van was stolen in Rotherfield at around 3:20 pm on Monday.
Driver Flees After Police Pursuit
By 4 pm, the RCT and Wealden Police were in hot pursuit when the thief refused to stop. The chase ended abruptly 20 minutes later in East Grinstead, where the driver ditched the van and fled on foot.
Forensic Team Scrambles to Crack the Case
Officers quickly recovered the stolen vehicle and launched a forensic investigation. A Sussex Police spokesperson said, “Our forensic team is now working their magic.”
