Ealing Man Jailed for Rape After Drugging Victim Outside Her Home

Eugenio Aveleria, 29, from Ealing, was slammed with a 12-year, two-month prison sentence at Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday, 15 May. He will also be on the UK’s sexual offender register for life.

Aveleria pleaded guilty to rape back on 3 January 2023.

Victim Found Unconscious Outside Her Own House

On 28 June 2021, the 23-year-old victim had been out having drinks with work colleagues. Later that evening, she left alone to return to a nearby house she was staying at but couldn’t get inside. She was found unconscious on the pavement outside.

Aveleria discovered her there and initially offered help. Instead, he took her to his own nearby home on the same road.

Horrific Assault While Victim Fainted

Back at his house, Aveleria took advantage while the victim was slipping in and out of consciousness, raping her. He forced her to leave at around 4am.

Distressed, the victim texted a colleague, saying she couldn’t make it to work because “something bad had happened.” She then contacted a Haven centre for advice. This led to the appointment of a sexual offences investigative officer and the launch of a full investigation.

Fast Police Action Snaps Up Offender

Police worked closely with the victim to gather details of Aveleria’s appearance and address. Within just two days, the Predatory Offender Unit arrested him at his home on 30 June 2021.

Detective Constable Kevin Flynn, lead investigator, said: “My team worked around the clock to track down Aveleria quickly, stopping any further harm to the public. I want to praise the victim for her tremendous courage in coming forward and reporting this horrific crime. I hope her bravery encourages all victims of sexual violence to speak out. We are here to listen and support you every step of the way.”
