Woman Stabbed in New Cross – Rushed to Hospital
A woman in her 30s has been rushed to hospital after a stabbing early this morning in New Cross. The violent attack happened around 8:55 am at the busy junction of Lewisham Way and Parkfield Road.
Emergency Services Race to Scene
Met Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics responded immediately. Paramedics arrived within four minutes, treating the woman at the scene before rushing her to a major trauma centre. Her condition is currently under assessment, but police say it is not believed to be life-threatening.
Police Seal Off Area, Bus Routes Diverted
The area remains cordoned off as officers gather evidence. This has caused diversions on several bus routes, including the 53, 177, 225, and 453. Parkfield Road and Amersham Vale also remain closed during the ongoing investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
A Met Police spokesperson said: “The woman was taken to hospital where her condition is being assessed. No arrests have been made at this early stage. Officers are carrying out fast-time enquiries and specialist searches in the area. If you have any information, please contact police quoting CAD1891/24MAY24.”
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added: “We were called at 8:56 am to reports of an incident at Lewisham Way and Parkfield Road. Our first paramedics arrived within four minutes. The woman was treated at the scene before being taken to a major trauma centre.”
