A 26-year-old man has tragically lost his life following a severe traffic incident in Broadstairs, Kent Police confirmed today. The accident occurred on Fairfield Road near the junction with Fair Street at approximately 12:25 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2024.
According to the reports, the pedestrian was struck by a black Nissan Qashqai. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision and has been cooperating with the police investigation.
Emergency services promptly responded to the scene, and the critically injured man was airlifted to the hospital. Despite the best efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.
Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. While there have been no arrests, officers are appealing to the public for witnesses who were in the area at the time of the collision or anyone who may have dashcam footage that could assist with the investigation.
