A 16-year-old boy has tragically died following a motorbike crash in Beechcroft Way, Islington, in the early hours of Tuesday, October 22. Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 12:10 a.m. after reports of a motorbike colliding with a lamppost.
Upon arrival, paramedics found the teenager suffering from injuries and attempted to save his life, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed, “Police were called by London Ambulance Service [LAS] at 12.12am on Tuesday, October 22, to reports of an injured boy at Beechcroft Way, Islington. At this early stage, it is believed that the boy, aged 16, had been riding a motorcycle that collided with a lamppost. When he was examined by medics at the scene, a suspected knife injury was found.”
Investigations are ongoing, and police have established several crime scenes in the area, including Courtauld Road, where it is believed an altercation may have taken place, and Sussex Road. The Metropolitan Police have yet to make any arrests in connection with the incident.
