Gun Scare in Rushey Green Ends Without Shots Fired
Police swooped on a man and woman in Rushey Green, SE6 at around 2.10pm on Wednesday, 26 May, after suspecting they were carrying a firearm.
Specialist Officers Step In
Specialist firearms officers were quickly deployed to the scene. The pair were detained, and cops recovered what is believed to be an imitation gun.
Arrests Made, Public Safe
Both suspects were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm in a public place. No shots were fired, and police have confirmed the incident is not terror-related.
Authorities say they are not hunting any other suspects and there is no threat to the public.
