Police Release E-Fit Following Sexual Assault in Merton Park

Detectives investigating a sexual assault in Morden Recreation Park have released an E-fit image of a male they urgently need to identify and speak with.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, when a woman, who was with her family including two young children, was approached by a male suspect. After a brief conversation, the suspect assaulted her before fleeing the scene in the direction of Canterbury Road.

Suspect Description

The suspect is described as:

  • In his late teens
  • Approximately 6ft tall
  • Of skinny build
  • Wearing a burgundy hoodie with white writing, blue tracksuit trousers, and black trainers

Police Appeal for Information

Detective Constable Tom Green, from the local policing team, said:

“We know this assault will cause a lot of worry in the local community, especially as this woman was playing with her children at the time.

“I would ask you to take a close look at the E-fit. Do you recognise him, or the clothing that he was wearing? It is vital that we identify him.”

DC Green also urged anyone with concerns about safety in the area to speak directly with officers.
