Murder probe launched after woman stabbed to death in Enfield
Tragedy on Ayley Croft
A 45-year-old woman was fatally stabbed at a home on Ayley Croft, Enfield, on Saturday evening. Emergency services were called at around 7pm on April 19 following reports of the stabbing. The Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and London’s Air Ambulance rushed to the scene.
Despite desperate attempts to save her, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed and are receiving specialist support as police launch a murder investigation.
Urgent Appeal for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John is leading the inquiry. He said:
“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this difficult time. We’ve increased police presence in the area and a crime scene remains in place. We urgently need anyone driving through Ayley Croft between 6:30pm and 7:30pm with dashcam footage to come forward. No detail is too small.”
No arrests have been made so far. Detectives are keen to trace any witnesses or footage from the crucial hour.

Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, Enfield’s Borough Commander, added:
“We understand the worry this incident causes local residents. Our neighbourhood officers and specialist detectives are working together to support the community and provide reassurance in the coming days.”
