Four Dead in Horror Car Crash on Armagh Road

Tragedy struck Northern Ireland early this morning as a devastating smash on Ballynahonemore Road in Armagh claimed four lives. The crash, involving a grey Volkswagen Golf, happened just after 2am.

Driver and Passengers Die on Impact

The driver plus three passengers were all pronounced dead at the scene, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) confirmed. Their identities have not yet been released.

“This is an unspeakable tragedy for the families involved, and for the wider community, who will understandably struggle to comprehend such loss of life,” said District Commander Superintendent Paul McGrattan.

“A thorough and sensitive investigation is now underway. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Collision Investigation Unit.”

Road Remains Closed Amid Investigation

Ballynahonemore Road is expected to stay closed for most of the day as police continue their work at the scene.

Political Leaders Offer Condolences

DUP leader Sir Jeffrey Donaldson described the crash as a “devastating incident.” He said:

“Tragic news coming from Armagh. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the four deceased in this devastating incident.”

Another Fatal Collision Reported

PSNI also reported a fatal road crash on Forkhill Road, Co Down, on Saturday night. A man in his 40s died following a collision with a pedestrian and a Nissan around 10:40pm. Although the road was briefly closed, it has since reopened.
