Man Fights for Life After Brutal Street Brawl in Brighton City Centre

Police are appealing for information after a violent assault in Brighton city centre left a man in his 30s critically injured in hospital.

The incident happened at around 2.30am on Saturday, 5 July, when officers were called to Western Road following reports of a fight involving two groups of men.

The altercation is believed to have started outside Buddha Nail Studio on Western Road before continuing westbound, opposite McDonald’s. One of the groups fled the scene in the direction of Churchill Square.

Emergency services responded quickly, and the victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. He remains in a critical condition.

Two men, aged 36 and 37, both from Brighton, have been arrested in connection with the assault and have been released on bail as investigations continue.

Police have now released images of a third man they wish to identify as part of their ongoing inquiries.

Detective Inspector Jenny Pietersen said:

“This was a violent incident that has left a man with life-threatening injuries, and we are determined to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

We have arrested two suspects, but we are keen to speak to the man pictured in these images in connection with the incident.
