Teen Mob Terrorises Lancaster Park with Transgender Abuse and Violent Attacks
A gang of around 15 teenagers unleashed a terrifying hate-fuelled rampage in Lancaster’s Williamson Park just before 10pm on October 24. Three people were assaulted and a woman was targeted with vile transgender abuse in a shocking incident that has rocked the community.
Brutal Attacks and Abuse in Broad Daylight
- The group surrounded a foursome of friends, hurling verbal abuse, including transgender slurs at a teenage girl.
- As the friends tried to escape towards Wyresdale Road, one man in his 20s was slammed on the back of the head – allegedly by a male teen.
- A teenage girl was dragged to the ground by her hair and viciously kicked.
- The mob continued to follow and harass the group as they fled.
- When another teenage girl threatened to call the cops, the gang tried to snatch her phone and pulled her to the floor by her hair in the middle of the road.
Victims Left Shaken, One Seriously Injured
The male victim managed to drive himself to hospital where medics stitched up a significant head wound requiring six stitches. The female victims escaped serious physical harm but were left visibly shaken by the ordeal.
Police Crack Down on Hate Crime
A 17-year-old Lancaster girl has been arrested on suspicion of GBH, ABH, and common assault, but she was released under investigation. Officers are treating this attack as a hate crime, motivated by prejudice against gender identity.
DC Nikki Marshall, Lancaster Police: “This was a particularly nasty and shocking incident which has left one man with a serious head injury and two women badly shaken. We do not tolerate any form of abuse and will work tirelessly to bring all offenders to justice. Everyone has the right to live free from fear of abuse. This incident is deeply concerning, and reassurance patrols have been increased.”
“If you witnessed anything or have CCTV or dashcam footage, please come forward.”
