A man has been found dead following a house fire in Horsham, prompting a joint investigation by police and the fire service.

Emergency services were called to a property on Littlehaven Lane, Horsham, at around 7.50am on Saturday, August 22.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service mobilised six fire appliances and an aerial ladder to tackle the blaze.

Sussex Police confirmed that a man was discovered dead inside the property.

 

A Sussex Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to reports of a fire at an address on Littlehaven Lane, Horsham, at 7.50am on Saturday, August 22.

“Sadly, a man was found dead within the house.

“An investigation is taking place alongside West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.”

Police and fire investigators are now working to establish the circumstances surrounding the blaze and the man’s death.

No further details about the deceased have been released at this stage.
