Brutal Attacks Spark Police Hunt

Detectives swooped after spotting striking links between two separate violent incidents. It kicked off on Sunday, 18 August 2019, when police rushed to a pub in Withington. A man was found slashed across the face, suffering a deep six-centimetre wound that needed stitches and left permanent scarring.

Second Attack at Nightclub

Five months later, on 30 January 2020, another chilling incident unfolded at a Withington nightclub. Two men were cut across their faces – one with a massive eight-inch gash, and the other sustaining a three-inch wound. Both injuries were serious enough to require hospital treatment and left lasting scars.

Police Warn: Night Out Shouldn’t Mean Fear

Natalie Richardson from GMP’s City of Manchester district said: “These incidents resulted in victims needing hospital treatment and being left with scars. These are serious consequences and could have been even worse.

Nights out are meant to be fun – not a risk to your safety. No one should worry about people carrying knives nearby. This sentencing sends a clear message: violent offenders will be caught and punished.

We want the public to know GMP is relentless in tracking down suspects, linking them to multiple offences, and making sure justice is done.”
