A teenage girl has died after being struck by vehicles on the M20 near Aylesford, prompting police to launch an appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.

Kent Police was called at 3.19am on Saturday, August 22, 2026, following reports of a serious collision on the coastbound M20 between junctions 4 and 5.

Police said the teenager was on the carriageway in the vicinity of a footbridge near Teapot Lane when she was struck by vehicles, including a Ford Transit van and a Vauxhall Corsa.

Emergency services attended, but the girl was confirmed dead at the scene. Her next of kin have been informed.

Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.

Police appeal for witnesses

Investigators want to speak to anyone who travelled through the area between 3.15am and 3.28am and saw a pedestrian on the motorway.

Drivers are also being urged to check their dashcam footage, even if they did not witness the collision itself, as it may have captured information important to the investigation.

Anyone with information should contact Kent Police on 01622 798538 or email [email protected], quoting reference 46/138541/26.

Footage can also be submitted directly to investigators through the police evidence portal provided as part of the appeal.
