Lone Dog Sparks Major Search at Roedean Cliffs
Emergency crews are scrambled after a golden retriever was spotted alone by the water’s edge near Roedean Cliffs. Concern is mounting for the dog’s owner, triggering a full-scale search involving police, coastguards, and the RNLI.
Massive Multi-Agency Hunt Underway
The alert blew up at 1:55pm when members of the public noticed the lone dog on the beach beneath the cliffs. Sussex Police quickly called in HM Coastguard teams from Shoreham and Newhaven, alongside Brighton RNLI lifeboat crews.
Teams are combing the risky undercliff zone and patrolling coastal waters with both ground and water searches, desperate to find the owner or anyone else in trouble.
“Emergency services are currently in attendance at the undercliff in Roedean following a report of a dog seen alone at the water’s edge. A ground and water search is under way to identify the owner,” said Sussex Police.
