The family of 12-year-old Corey Lee Caton have issued a heartfelt tribute following his tragic death in a road crash on Saturday, 7 November, on the B417 near Pangbourne.

‘Taken Too Soon’ – Dad’s Heartbreaking Tribute to Corey

Corey’s dad described his son as a “kind-hearted, funny, intelligent boy taken far too soon.” The family remains shattered by the sudden loss.

“Corey’s death has left all of us shocked and devastated. It’s impossible to accept how cruel fate can be.”

A Life Full of Adventure and Laughter

Corey was not just any 12-year-old. He had a creative streak, loved maths, and possessed a sharp, witty sense of humour. A fan of rock and rap, he also enjoyed social PlayStation gaming and was adored by friends both in and out of school.

In his short life, Corey packed in incredible experiences: skiing across France and Italy, parasailed in Egypt, zip-lined, toured Asia, camped, attended music festivals, cycled, flown in a gyrocopter, motored on motocross bikes, played bass guitar, and swam in every pool, sea, and ocean he could find—earning the nickname ‘fish’.

More Than Just a Boy Next Door

Tall, handsome, and strong, Corey earned a brown belt in Judo. However, his ticklish nature always ended playful fights. He famously dominated family card games like ‘silly’ head, often beating his grandparents to their delight.

“With a knot in my stomach and a broken heart, I grieve not just for Corey but for the huge future he was robbed of. He was my beloved son, my best ‘little buddy.’”

Giving Life Even in Death

In keeping with his generous spirit, Corey donated his organs after the accident, hoping something positive might come from the tragedy.
