86-Year-Old Man Dies in Shocking South Side Chicago Shooting

An elderly man’s life was tragically cut short in a shooting on Saturday morning in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighbourhood.

Shot in the Thigh, Rushed to Hospital

Just before 10am, police were called to the 8100 block of South Throop Street after reports of gunfire. They found the 86-year-old suffering from a gunshot wound to his left thigh. Emergency medical teams raced to the scene and rushed him to Christ Medical Centre in Oak Lawn.

Victim Dies Despite Emergency Care

Despite rapid treatment, the man’s injuries proved fatal. He died at the hospital, the Chicago Police Department confirmed.

No Arrests Yet – Police Seek Witnesses

So far, no suspects have been caught. Police are investigating but offer few details. They are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward and help catch the shooter behind this heart-breaking crime.
