Manhunt Underway After Hit-and-Run Kills Woman in Sutton

A frantic police hunt is on after a white van struck a woman in Sutton and sped off, leaving her dead at the scene.

Tragic Crash on Tonfield Road

Emergency services, including the Air Ambulance and paramedics, rushed to Tonfield Road at 6.57pm. Despite their desperate efforts, the woman was pronounced dead there and then.

Police Urge Van Driver to Hand Yourself In

The Met Police have launched a hit-and-run investigation. A spokesman said: “Officers remain on scene following a collision involving two vehicles. We are working to identify the woman and inform her next of kin.”

They do not yet know if the woman was a pedestrian or passenger.

The driver of the white van fled the scene. Police pleaded: “Do the right thing and hand yourself in. This won’t go away and we will find you.”

No arrests have been made so far. Officers are hunting down the van and asking witnesses to come forward.
