£500k Cocaine Haul Seized in Southend Bust
A 33-year-old man has been locked up after police uncovered a massive 5kg haul of cocaine worth over £500,000. Bradley Pritchard was caught last November in Southend’s Thorpe Bay, with the Class A drugs hidden both in his car and at his home.
Under Surveillance Before Dramatic Stop
Essex Police’s serious and organised crime unit had been tailing Pritchard before pulling him over on Johnstone Road. The suspect tried to dodge suspicion by claiming he was “just driving a work car” and even gave a fake address to the officers.
Sentenced to Over Five Years
Pritchard was found with roughly £512,500 worth of cocaine ready to flood South Essex streets. He admitted to two counts of possession with intent to supply. On 26 February, Basildon Crown Court sentenced him to five years and four months behind bars.
Other members of his drug ring have already faced conviction, with some still waiting to be sentenced.
Police Going After Criminal Profits
Authorities have confirmed they will pursue Pritchard’s criminal earnings through financial investigations, cracking down hard on the grubby cash flow fueling Essex’s drug trade.
