Dean Smith, 30, from Peddars Way, Lowestoft, was sentenced to 36 months in jail at Ipswich Crown Court on 23 April 2026 for multiple drug offences, including possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of criminal property, and possession of cannabis. The conviction follows a police raid on 14 November 2025 by the Scorpion team, who executed a warrant under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act at a caravan where Smith was staying.
Police Find Drugs At Caravan
During the raid, officers found Smith hiding under the bedding. Cannabis was discovered on the kitchen worktop and bedside table, while a search of the caravan uncovered 76 grams of cocaine hidden in the pockets of two black jackets. Drug paraphernalia, including scales, money, and two mobile phones, were also seized.
Guilty Plea Secures Sentence
Smith admitted to all charges at an earlier hearing, which influenced the 36-month custodial sentence handed down at Ipswich Crown Court.
Law Enforcement Remains Vigilant
Following his arrest and subsequent questioning at Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, Smith was charged and taken into custody. Suffolk Police continue to encourage the public to report suspected drug activity.
