A woman in her 80s has died following a serious collision involving pedestrians and several vehicles in a supermarket car park in Gosport.
Police were called at 12.06pm on Friday, August 21, following reports of a collision in the Morrisons car park on Walpole Road.
Officers were told a grey Kia Soul had been driven into the car park before colliding with two pedestrians and several parked and moving vehicles.
Despite the efforts of emergency services, one of the pedestrians, a woman aged in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A second person was injured and is reported to have suffered minor injuries.
Police have launched an investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision, with officers reviewing CCTV and pursuing other lines of enquiry.
Witness and dashcam appeal
Investigators are particularly keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Kia Soul in the moments immediately beforehand.
Motorists who were in the area at the time are also being asked to check their dashcam footage for anything that could assist the investigation.
