Girl, 13, Escapes Attempted Abduction Near Timperley Tram Stop

On Thursday 27 June at around 7pm, a 13-year-old girl narrowly escaped an attempted abduction near Timperley tram stop, Trafford police revealed on Friday 28 June.

White Vauxhall Driver Tries to Snatch Girl

The teen was walking from Timperley tram stop on Park Road towards Ridings Road when a man driving a white Vauxhall Insignia pulled up and started talking to her.

He then got out and tried to force her into the car. Luckily, several witnesses shouted at the man, causing him to back off, and the girl managed to flee unharmed. She was left deeply shaken but there were no reported injuries.

Suspect Arrested and Held

Detective Constable O’Rourke from Trafford CID said: “Since receiving the report, we have charged a 31-year-old man who is now remanded in custody. We are working closely with local partners to protect and support the young victim with specially trained officers.”

Officers have boosted patrols in the area and urge the public to come forward with any information that could help the investigation.
