Three lanes of the M27 motorway remain closed and blocked this evening following a collision.
The M27 eastbound between junctions 11 and junction 12 remained blocked after being closed by Police and Highways England. The lanes are unlikely to reopen before 4am said a spokesperson from Highways England. the closure was put in following a road traffic collision that happened after 9pm on Friday evening.
It is understood that a blue HYUNDAI COUPE Sports Car flipped a number of times and over turned near to Down End Road. Fires Crews from Fareham Fire Station were also called to the accident just before junction 12. A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said f: ‘We were called to the incident in order to make the scene safe, we closed the two inside lanes of the motorway. ‘The accident happened at the point where the four lanes merge into three, and the driver of the car was taken to hospital by ambulance. It is unclear how seriously injured the driver is.
