A number of school buses and Southern Vectis Buses are trapped as a result of the closure following the collision between a Seat Leon and a Blue Volkswagen near to Brownriggs Farmshop on Newport Road on the outskirts of Godshill.
Police have put in a hard road closure at the Bluecross animal shelter. The road is closed at its junction with the A3020 and Merston Lane. Paramedics are treating those involved in the collision who is understood to be a pensioner who was driving the VW bettle and a younger man in the seat.
Buses are attempting to turn there vehicle around in the farm entrance.
Passengers and schol children who have been trapped on the buses are being moved between buses via a grass verge each side of the cordons
All traffic heading towards Shanklin is being diverted via Merstone Lane, leading to delays in the area.
Southern Vectis buses have said that they are currently not serving Godshill.
Police at the scene have confirmed that an investigation has been started none of the drivers involved have been arrested. Two people have been checked and treated by Isle of Wight ambulance service at the scene. One of those has been taken to hospitial by the Service with injuries not thought to be serious.
UPDATE:1710 As First reported the Two vehicles have now been recovered by Police Contractor Stag Lane Motors and the Road has been reopened by Police.
