Kent Police is appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision on the A2 between Faversham and Canterbury.

Officers were called to the scene on the Boughton by-pass, between the A2050 and Brenley Corner at 4.21pm, on Monday 23 July. The collision involved two vehicles, a white Iveco road sweeper and a red Mercedes lorry. Both vehicles had been travelling towards the Brenley roundabout on the London bound carriageway.


Fire and ambulance crews also attended and the driver of the road sweeper, a man aged in his 60s from the Isle of Sheppey, was taken by air ambulance to a London hospital, where he later died. His next of kin have been informed.

​Road closures put in place following the collision were removed at 1.15am the following morning.
