Tragic Hit-and-Run in Southampton: Woman Killed as BMW Crashes Into Pedestrian and Parked Car
Deadly Collision in West End
Police are hunting witnesses after a fatal crash in West End, Southampton, at 10.47pm on 10 December. A grey BMW sped westbound along West End High Street before hitting a pedestrian on the pavement near Lower New Road.
Car Chaos: BMW Smashes Into Parked Car and Building
After striking the woman, the BMW ploughed into a parked black Ford Fiesta, which then collided with a nearby building. The local woman in her 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Man Arrested on Multiple Charges
A 28-year-old Southampton man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink and drug driving offences. He remains in police custody.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
Inspector Andy Tester from the Roads Policing Unit said:
“Our thoughts are with the woman and her family at this difficult time. The investigation is still early and any information, no matter how small, could make a big difference – so please get in touch.”
